Would you like to have a significant impact on education and work for a SaaS company, known for MyTimetable?

Are you ready to boost your professional growth by getting involved in a large part of the whole process, and significant product development?

Semestry is the company behind TermTime and MyTimetable, the leading timetabling platform in universities in and outside the EU with more than a million end-users. MyTimetable presents timetable data in a friendly manner and makes it integrate seamlessly with other applications, systems, and digital learning environments. We work closely with clients and providers of scheduling solutions. We work using the Scrumban methodology. Planning and reviews we schedule when necessary. We work hard on our SaaS-platform to guarantee scalability and maintenance.

Your work mostly involves building a web interface, integrations with scheduling solutions, APIs, video conferencing tools, and other systems our clients work with. Upcoming new projects you will work on, are our own self-service possibilities of our SaaS solution and data storage, internal and external.

You value clean, high-quality code, not just for the sake of maintainability but also to keep support work to a minimum. With thorough code reviews, we ensure the quality of our products. We use a pragmatic approach to testing our software.

Our platform currently runs on Java 17, so we’re able to use the latest and greatest features of the language.

We are looking to add a full-stack product developer with a backend focus, preferably with expertise in architecture and/or DevOps. You have a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in application development with Java and Spring Boot and you understand the importance of scalability and reliability of the system.

Besides some familiarity with our tech stack, it would be very nice if you have a high-level knowledge of system and software architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), security, and microservices.

On top of all the benefits of working in a small team with short, direct communication, your influence on the product is large. Furthermore:

  • Working with modern stack and hardly any legacy!
  • Annual gross salary in the range of €50k – €65k
  • 24 paid leave days based on full-time employment
  • Employment contract for 32-40 hours a week
  • Reasonable flexibility regarding when and where you work, as long as you deliver. Currently, we work from home full-time. Also, post-COVID, working from home 1 or 2 days a week will remain possible
  • Regular outings to one of the bars in the lively city center of The Hague
  • Freedom of choice regarding hardware you want to work with
  • Occasional side projects, fun and educational
  • We cover your lunch and commuting costs
