Your job as Java Developer

Your work mostly involves building a web interface, integrations with scheduling solutions, APIs, video conferencing tools, and other systems our clients work with. Upcoming new projects you will work on, are our own self-service possibilities of our SaaS solution and data storage, internal and external.

You value clean, high-quality code, not just for the sake of maintainability but also to keep support work to a minimum. With thorough code reviews, we ensure the quality of our products. We use a pragmatic approach to testing our software.

Our platform currently runs on Java 11, but to anticipate new functionalities, you can help us during the process of migrating to Java 16.

What do you need

We are looking to add a full-stack product developer with a backend focus, preferably with expertise in architecture and/or DevOps. You understand the importance of scalability and reliability of the system.

Besides the previously mentioned tech stack, it would be very nice if you have a high-level knowledge of system and software architecture, DDD and software design, software security, and microservices structures.

What's in it for you

On top of all the benefits of working in a small team with short, direct communication, your influence on the product is large. Furthermore:

  • Working with modern stack and hardly any legacy!
  • Annual gross salary in the range of €50k - €65k
  • 24 paid leave days based on full-time employment
  • Employment contract for 32-40 hours a week
  • We prefer working together in our cozy office by default, especially on Fridays for afternoon drinks with all team members!
  • Reasonable flexibility regarding when and where you work, as long as you deliver. Working from home 1 or 2 days a week will remain possible, also post-COVID
  • Regular outings to one of the bars in the lively city center of The Hague
  • Freedom of choice regarding hardware you want to work with
  • Occasional side projects, fun and educational
  • We cover your lunch and commuting costs

MyTimetable

With nearly a million end users, MyTimetable is the leading platform for timetable publication in universities in and outside the EU. The web application presents timetable data in a (user) friendly manner and makes it integrate seamlessly with other applications, systems, and digital learning environments.

Our team of four full-stack developers and the two founders is small, but we serve big clients. We tried to implement Scrum, but that just wasn’t for us. Now we work according to a less sprint-oriented Scrumban. Planning and reviews we schedule when necessary.

We’re in the process of transforming into a SaaS company for scalability and maintenance. We work closely with clients and providers of scheduling solutions.
